I’ve been handling my gerbil.Is that protected or will I get an infection? If I have already gotten an infection,how could I tell?

Wash hands at least twice a day, use moisturizing skin lotion.

I’ve had a lot of blisters due to point shoes in ballet so I know what I am talking about. Popping them is definatly not the way to go, just maintain it wrapped up and band-aids aid too.
