Countdown to Passover... (please read.)

By the Grace of G-d
Eve of Search of Chametz

Dear Friend,

At this very moment, while millions of Jews worldwide are finalizing their Passover preparations, scores of Chabad.org's Ask the Rabbi responders are doing the same.

Between mopping their floors, grinding their Maror (bitter herbs), scrubbing their stoves, setting their tables, putting out their chairs, and preparing the children's Haggadahs, they are continuously summoned by the buzz of their email: Please Donate Today!

"Our travel plans fell through and we're suddenly forced to prepare our home for Passover. What MUST we do?"

"I need an answer right away: Is [x, y, z product] okay to use during the holiday?"

"What is the meaning of [this or that seder fixture or phrase]?"

"I'm stuck in Malawi, how can I make a Seder?" "I'm in Tel Aviv (!) without a seder." "I'm in Seoul." "Darfur." "Dakar." "Spain." "New Zealand."

"What did the Rebbe say about the Fifth Son.?"

"We live in ___ and have no money for food for Pesach. Can you help?!"

With their signature patience and care, our amazing men and women painstakingly respond to each individual, helping to ensure that he or she feels connected to and comfortable with his or her Jewish heritage.

Indeed, all year 'round our Ask the Rabbi scholars, along with our editors, designers and programmers, cater to millions of individuals, connecting them to three millenia of timeless, priceless wisdom and guidance, in seven languages.

Throughout the world, people of all levels of knowledge and observance - all "Four Sons". - know to come to Chabad.org for meaning and answers and for help with the most important of life's questions and challenges.

However, our job has really only begun. As the Rebbe, of righteous memory, taught, we dare not rest until every Jewish child -- even the Fifth Son who doesn't know about the seder! -- has a Jewish education.

Which, of course, takes serious financial commitment as well.

So, on behalf of the entire Chabad.org team, I turn to you and implore you:

As you sit down to the seder tomorrow night with family and friends, wouldn't it feel good to know that you've given most generously to engage the "Fifth Son," the child -- or adult -- who doesn't know that there is a seder at all?

Please partner with us in this effort and contribute generously to our pre-Passover fundraising drive:
