What excersises are ideal for creating muscle to support the knee?

I run fairly usually and on my last 4 mile run i observed my knee hurting following cooling down, only when i bend it. My mom has had knee difficulties and is also a runner but this is my 1st time experiencing this discomfort, i heard it is caused by overusing certain muscles and not other folks.. and tips? i enjoy running and do not want to give it up.

go see someone. i’ve had knee issues for years and have gone for physical treatment several times. just went to a chiropractor this summer time who really helped. they have attributed my knee pain to a number of points, but there are simple ‘tests’ they can do to see which muscles are weaker. and not only does getting some weak muscles injured your knees, so does having a poor imbalance. it could be pulling your knee a single way, for instance. if i had been you, i’d see a person and find that out. then if you did not want PT or what ever, you could just do workouts for these muscles on your own.
